Letter From Pastor David

Russellville Baptist Family - - - - - - - - What’s Next?

We are living in an unprecedented time. Nothing has occurred like this in our lifetime. Don’t forget - God is still on His throne and He expects us to worship Him even in different locations and in ways we are not accustomed.

Our weekly corporate worship of the Father will look differently. We will need to worship as the church scattered for an unforeseen period of time. However, we will return to worship as the church gathered. It is important that in whatever location we find ourselves worshipping that we worship the Father in “spirit and truth.”

On Sundays we will worship using Facebook live steam. A worship team will share some songs and David will share from God’s word (read Daniel chapter 4).

Please join us at 10:30 a.m.

Since we will not be meeting Sunday or Wednesday evening, you are encouraged to make disciples in your homes sometime during the week. I am preparing a simple home Bible study method titled “Discovery Bible Study.” This study can be done anytime during the week. It does not have to be on Sunday or Wednesday evenings. The goal is to have everyone in the home to participate. The individual leading is a facilitator. The task of the facilitator is to help each individual in the home to participate. There are three time periods during the evening.

  1. Looking Back During this time, you will look back at the week past and share some “highs” and “lows.” What were the good and difficult times in the past week? During this time, you will want to pray for and love on each other.

  2. Looking Up During this time, you will look toward the Father and read a passage of scripture. Here you will discuss the passage as the facilitator asks some questions.

  3. Looking Forward You will wrap up looking at the week ahead. Talk about what’s on the family calendar and if anyone in the group will need help or prayer. Anyone can close the session in prayer.

If you have any questions, please contact your assigned deacon or me.

My prayer for you is that you might

  • know Jesus more intimately,

  • obey Him more faithfully,

  • recognize His character more clearly,

  • and talk about Him more openly.
